The Musical Life For Me

Colin discovered music in high school and quickly settled into the Rock 'n' Roll life style with a band called Bograt and Memphis T Rock, but not before being drawn in to the theatre, performing the military drum rolls in a school play.

The Rock 'n' Roll soon took over, leading on to an array of bands. The '70s was an endless run of gigging with an assortment of bands in pubs and clubs.

Other bands include: 'Steam' - 'Felix' -  'Next' (Benny Hills Angels)

Genres included: Covers, Funk, R 'n' B, R 'n' R.

The '80s wasn't a lot different, it just got better. It started with a band called Mr. Zero, recording with a Beatles engineer called Peter Bown. The decade included touring with a Rock 'n' Roll band called Cadillac and a Blues band called AM5 (but I mustn't forget The Rocking Devil tour in Germany which was very interesting. A story for later I think).

Other bands included: The Jumpin' Stingrays, - 'Les Gray's Mud'

Genres included: Blues, R 'n' B, Jazz.

The '90s continued with much of the same, more recording and performing. I had joined two bands in this decade (but still working with Cadillac and the odd jazz sessions), both interesting in their own way. The first band was a punk-ish style band, performing mainly in London, but it evolved into a jazz band in order to perform the leaders Mums music (she was a famous lyricist and poet). The Simon Lawrence Jazz Band recorded one album before we all moved on. The second band was a cover band that was attached to a farm that put on music festivals for several years, they were called Y-Not.

Other bands include: The Basie Bros. - Funky Monks - Skaface.

Genres included:  Jazz, Blues, Pop, Funk, Ska.

Towards the end of the '90s and into the '00s, I was growing tired and achy from playing so much, and started perusing an interest that was undeveloped, but alway in the background; writing and recording my own music and so started my new adventure into an exciting avenue which has led me to where I am now.
